How to Find Healthy Recipes Online

There are a seemingly infinite amount of recipes online claiming to be “healthy”, so it can be difficult to know which recipes truly contain healthy ingredients — healthy meaning real, whole foods, without processed sugar, industrial seed oil, and gluten, as well as food additives, including artificial dyes, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial flavors. Healthy foods such as meat, fish, eggs, veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, and spices fuel your body with all good things.

To find recipes full of good things (nutrient dense foods), use the word “paleo” on a Google search. Try, “paleo recipes” or “simple paleo recipes” or “paleo recipes for beginners”.

I know, in some circles, the word “paleo” is associated with heavy meat diets and has a bad reputation.  In fact, “paleo” refers to a diet rich in nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory foods and excludes potentially problematic, inflammatory foods, including dairy, legumes, and grains. “Paleo” foods are foods that have the power to prevent and reverse chronic disease.

By using the word “paleo” in your online recipe search, you can be sure the recipes will include only real, whole foods. You will be able to pronounce every ingredient in the recipe. You can rest assured you are picking a truly healthy meal for you, your family, and/or friends. You are not sacrificing quality, taste, or convenience. You can have all three.

Below are some of my favorite “paleo” recipes.
